Willie Coffey MSP visits our Kilmarnock Support Centre

We were delighted to receive a visit from MSP Willie Coffey along with JB Management, to meet with some of our past and present Modern Apprentices on Monday 4th March to celebrate Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2019.

The picture above shows Willie Coffey MSP at our Kilmarnock Support Centre, with former Modern Apprentices Shannon Richards & Ashley Dalton, current Modern Apprentices Ashley Clay & Lianne Ferguson, and Support Manager Elaine Miller.

Shannon Richards has successfully completed her Level 3 Occupational Health and Safety apprenticeship, and Ashley Dalton a Level 3 in Business and Administration. Ashley Clay and Lianne Ferguson are currently completing their Level 3 Procurement apprenticeships.

Scottish Apprenticeship Week is an annual campaign co-ordinated by Skills Development Scotland and partners and celebrates the achievements of individual apprentices. This year’s theme is Skills for the Future.

Willie said:

“Apprenticeships are a fantastic way for all employers to invest in their workforce and provide the skills the economy needs now and in the future. I welcome these statistics which show that once again we are exceeding our annual Modern Apprenticeship target.

“We are funding more apprenticeships in Scotland than ever before, and with a record 27,145 new Modern Apprenticeship starts last year, we are on track to achieve our ambition to deliver 30,000 new apprenticeship starts by 2020.

“We are continuing to enhance the apprenticeship opportunities available to provide the right balance of skills to meet the needs of employers and the economy, including prioritising higher skilled apprenticeships and STEM occupations.

“I am delighted to see how successfully the modern apprenticeship programme is working for these young apprentices and employer Tivoli Group Ltd, and can only urge more people and employers to take up the training opportunities available.”

Tivoli is committed to a comprehensive nationwide apprentice program in multiple disciplines, both for operational and office-based roles, and we are very proud of the hard work and dedication of our employees to further their careers and develop their skills.
